Antenna plug-in
The radiation module allows for the computation and optimization of far and near
field patterns of radiating circuits. The patterns are computed for a single mode
injected into the circuit, for an arbitrary number of frequency points at an
arbitrary port. The injected mode can be selected from the variety of all
accessible modes at that port. The field patterns are derived from the spherical
wave coefficients of the radiating element at a fixed radius. A typical task for
the µWave Wizard is the simultaneous optimization of the antenna pattern as well
as of the transmission and reflection coefficients of complex networks.

Furthermore, defining antenna patterns in terms of equations and functions as part of the goal functions is supported. For typical applications like corrugated horn antennas, additional pre-defined macros are included, allowing for a quick and simple definition of the antenna geometry using only very few input parameters. 3D plots, contour plots and iso-lines are generated to visualize the computed antenna pattern.
