The computation of the resonance frequency is important for the design of filters, in particular for the layout of combline filters. The computation of the resonance frequency with µWave Wizard™ is carried out by using the included 3D-Finite Element Method (FEM) solver. A 3D-FEM mesh is generated for the element or the circuit and the resonance frequency is computed based on this mesh. 3D-FEM can be used to calculate the resonance frequency of any structure.
It is also possible to visualize the electro-magnetic fields of the resonant modes in µWave Wizard's™ 3D viewer.
